What experience do you have?
We’ve been established for over 20 years and have more than 60 years’ experience between us. As well as working for companies and homeowners we work extensively for local authorities and property developers.
What makes Ferndale special?
We’re honest, reliable and easy to work with.

We take great pride in what we do and pay attention to getting the details right. At the end of each day of a job we leave the place clean and tidy.

If any minor issues come up (such as water pipes in unexpected places) we have the experience and ingenuity to work around them. Unless a really major problem occurs that we couldn’t have foreseen, we’ll never charge you more than we quoted.

Perhaps most importantly, we really care.

Do you always arrange a site visit before committing to do a job?

Unless the project is very simple we will usually arrange to come and meet you on site before we give you a quote.

After the site visit how long will I have to wait for a quote?

Depending on the complexity of the job we may be able to quote on the spot. If not you can expect to receive a written quote from us within the week.

Which areas of the country do you work in?

We work throughout the Home Counties. We’re happy to travel within a 60-mile radius of High Wycombe.

Can you provide drawings?

Yes we can. After consulting with you on your ideas and requirements, we’ll do a rough sketch.

To some extent we prefer to let the garden evolve as we work. This gives us the flexibility to deal with any minor unforeseen problems as they crop up.

If I’ve already got designs, can you work with them?

Yes of course. Clients often use us to carry out works planned by a previous designer.

Sometimes we find that designers have failed to take into account issues like the positioning of drains or manholes. But don’t worry – with our extensive experience we can work around these minor problems.

What materials will you use?

We always source the best materials the budget allows, either with guidance from you or using our own initiative, contacts and experience.

Can you use materials I already have?

We’re happy to use materials you already have. However we’re very conscious of health and safety, and if we feel your materials may not be up to the job we will let you know.

What is your pricing structure?

We don’t have a formal pricing structure. We quote for each job individually, taking into account your budget and the materials and labour involved.

Once you’ve accepted our quote we’ll stick with that price, unless a major problem occurs that we couldn’t have foreseen.

We are VAT-registered but our quoted prices don’t include VAT.

What are your payment terms?

We like invoices to be paid within 30 days of completion, but we’ll only submit our invoice once we know you’re happy with what we’ve done.

Occasionally we may ask for a deposit in advance.

Is there a guarantee?

Our main concern, after health and safety, is that our clients are happy with what we do. We’ll never leave a job until you’re satisfied.

Except in very rare cases, we’ll never charge you more than we agreed, even if a project takes much longer than we’d anticipated. If a major problem occurs that we couldn’t have foreseen we’ll stop work and discuss with you how to proceed.

If, at a later date, you’re not happy with any aspect, just let us know and we can come back and fix it.
